These terms govern your use of sortedabroad.com and anything you buy from us. By using the site or purchasing, you agree to them.
Who we are
SortedAbroad (Liam Grennan) of Rahan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly. Contact: info@sortedabroad.com.
1. What we provide
SortedAbroad publishes written guides about relocating abroad, a free downloadable toolkit, and a paid digital product (the Relocation Roadmap).
2. Important — this is not professional advice
Everything on this site is general information only. It is not immigration, legal, tax, financial, medical or insurance advice, and it does not create a professional relationship between us.
Immigration rules, tax thresholds, fees and processing times change frequently and vary by nationality, consulate and individual circumstances. You must verify current requirements with the relevant official authority and take advice from a qualified professional in your destination country before acting.
We make reasonable efforts to keep content accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete, accurate or up to date at any given moment.
3. Accounts
If you create an account:
- Provide accurate information and keep your password secure
- You're responsible for activity under your account
- Tell us promptly at info@sortedabroad.com if you suspect unauthorised access
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms
You can delete your account at any time by contacting us.
4. Purchases
Price and currency. The Relocation Roadmap is sold at the price shown at checkout, in the currency shown. Prices may change, but changes never affect completed orders.
Payment. Processed by Stripe. We don't receive or store your card details. By purchasing you confirm you're authorised to use the payment method.
Delivery. The product is delivered by email as a PDF, normally within minutes of payment. If it hasn't arrived within an hour, check your spam folder and then contact us — we will resend it.
Taxes. Prices may exclude VAT or sales tax, which will be added at checkout where applicable.
5. Refunds and your right to cancel
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase. However, for digital content delivered immediately, that right is lost once download or delivery begins — provided you have expressly consented and acknowledged the loss.
At checkout you will be asked to confirm that you want immediate delivery and that you understand you lose your 14-day cancellation right once delivery begins. By confirming, you waive that right.
Our own policy, regardless of the above: if the product fails to deliver, is corrupted, or is materially not as described, contact us at info@sortedabroad.com and we will resolve it — by redelivery or refund.
Because the product is a digital file that cannot be returned, we do not otherwise offer refunds for change of mind.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
6. Licence and acceptable use
When you buy the Roadmap, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own relocation. You may print it and fill it in for your own use.
You may not:
- Resell, redistribute, share or publish it
- Upload it to file-sharing sites or public repositories
- Reproduce substantial portions in your own commercial materials
- Remove branding or claim it as your own work
All content on the site — articles, images, the Roadmap and the toolkit — remains our intellectual property.
Breach of this licence terminates it immediately, without refund.
7. Your submissions
If you submit a story, testimonial or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, edit and use it in connection with the site and our marketing. You confirm the content is yours to share and isn't unlawful or infringing. We may decline or remove submissions at our discretion.
8. Acceptable use of the site
Don't use the site to break the law, attempt unauthorised access, scrape it at scale, introduce malicious code, or interfere with its operation.
9. Third-party links
We link to external sites — government pages, service providers, other resources. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The site and products are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or opportunity
- Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including your statutory rights as a consumer.
You are solely responsible for decisions you make about relocating, and for verifying information with the appropriate authorities and professionals.
11. Availability
We aim to keep the site available but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it, including products, at any time.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
EU consumers may also be able to access alternative dispute resolution schemes in their country of residence.
