SortedAbroad uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and, only with your consent, to measure how it's used and to show relevant advertising. This page explains what we set, why, and how you stay in control.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember things — like your cookie choice on this visit — between page loads and visits.

The cookies we use

We only set two kinds of cookie, and only when you choose to accept them:

  • Essential. A single cookie (sortedabroad_cookie_consent) records whether you accepted or rejected tracking. It's set the moment you make a choice and is needed for the banner not to reappear on every page. No consent is required for this one.
  • Analytics & advertising. If you accept, we load Google Analytics (to see which pages are read) and Google AdSense / Google Ads (to measure ad performance). These set their own cookies under Google's domains. If you reject, none of these scripts load.

Managing your choice

You can change your mind at any time. Use the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page to show the consent banner again, or:

You can also clear the sortedabroad_cookie_consent cookie in your browser settings, which resets your choice and shows the banner again on your next visit.

Third-party services

Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Google Ads each have their own cookie policies. You can review or opt out of Google's advertising cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and manage analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Changes to this policy

If we add or change the cookies we use, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will re-show the consent banner so you can choose again.
